[ New Item] Maru haku- Round Gold Leaf, Not square.
You may think "Is it just cut into
circle? We can just paint the surface with glue in circle and gild with leaves then?"
but there is something only these round leaves can do.
Usually,
leaves for arts and crafts, especially for gilding the flat surfaces are
square. The technique of gilding folding screen or Japanese paintings in grid
is the signature of the neat and sophisticated Japanese arts.
Although
it is beautiful, the grids inevitably appear in this technique. Looking at
those straight grids, a question was raised: “Can we have different tastes of
grids?”
Here
comes Maru-haku, opening up great new potentials of gilding- you are not
limited to gild horizontally; you can gild diagonally, or even shed the leaves
over the leaves. The layered arcs appear very unique.
Sky
is the limit for the idea for using these round leaves- it’s not limited to
gilding flat paper . We cannot wait to see how your creativity further expands
the potential of this new item.
